In case of cancellation or non-utilization of any service (transportation, hotels accommodation (part / full), permits, any complementary ride at Khalsar Dunes etc.) because of any reason (ill health, flight delay / cancellation / hike in fare, strike / road block / bad weather or any other natural calamities) there will be no refund for the unutilized service. The guests will have to bear the extra expenses of change in itinerary

Enough warm cloths as the climate of Ladakh is always cold and the temperatures dipping down to sub zero levels even during the hottest months.

Acclimatize Properly: Give your body time to adjust to the high altitude.

Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water to combat the dry climate.

Dress in Layers: Be prepared for varying temperatures throughout the day.

Respect Local Culture: Be mindful of local customs and traditions.

Carry Cash and Supplies: ATMs and stores may be scarce, especially in remote areas.

Don’ts:

Avoid Alcohol and Smoking: They can hinder acclimatization and are best avoided.

Don’t Litter: Keep the environment clean and carry back non-biodegradable waste.

Dress Conservatively: Especially when visiting religious places.

Don’t Disturb Wildlife: Maintain a safe distance from animals.

Photography Permissions: Always ask for permission before taking photos of people or inside religious places.

Phone Connectivity:

Postpaid Connections Only: Only postpaid mobile connections work in Ladakh.

Network Providers: BSNL has the widest coverage, followed by Airtel and Jio.

Limited Coverage: Connectivity is mostly around Leh and major areas. Remote places may have no network.

Satellite Phones: Can be used in emergencies (with permission from the authorities) where regular mobile connectivity is not available.

Internet Availability:

4G Services: Airtel has launched 4G services in some parts of Ladakh, including Kargil and Dras.

Data Connectivity: Mostly limited to 2G/GPRS in major city areas. 3G and 4G depend on location and network provider.

Wi-Fi: Available in hotels, guesthouses, and cyber cafes, but the speed may be slow.

It’s important to plan for periods without connectivity and inform family and friends about the limited phone and internet services in Ladakh. Carrying power banks is also advisable due to the limited charging facilities in remote areas.

CAUTION ABOUT STAYING AT CAMPS : Accommodations in remote areas like Alchi, Pangong, Tsomoriri, and Dha Hanu are very basic. Camps often face staff shortages due to harsh climates, leading to service delays and non-availability of some food items. Only simple vegetarian food is served. Room heaters are not available in Standard and Deluxe options. Camps are temporary structures, so expect wear and tear in tents and temporary bathroom fittings. Electricity comes from private generators that are switched off after dinner, so don't expect 24-hour electric supply. Guests might be moved to different but equivalent camps if overbooked. The camps in Pangong and Tsomoriri are not comparable to those in Nubra Valley. Only book these camps if you are okay with the above limitations. No refund requests will be entertained due to these or any other reasons not mentioned.
