Welcome to Phnom Penh, Cambodia’s vibrant capital city, where traditional Khmer heritage blends harmoniously with elegant French colonial architecture, tree-lined boulevards, and historic landmarks. Upon arrival, you will be warmly welcomed and transferred to your hotel to leave your luggage before beginning your city tour.
This afternoon, visit the magnificent Royal Palace and the Silver Pagoda, the official residence of the King of Cambodia. Renowned for its stunning Khmer architecture and golden spires, the Royal Palace is one of Phnom Penh’s most iconic landmarks. Located within the palace complex, the Silver Pagoda derives its name from the thousands of silver tiles that cover its floor. Inside, admire an impressive collection of Buddha statues crafted from precious metals and adorned with jewels.
Continue through the scenic riverside park where the Mekong, Tonle Sap, and Bassac Rivers converge. Visit the sacred hill of Phnom Daun Penh, from which the city derives its name, and explore the historic pagoda situated atop the hill. Conclude the day at the Central Market, an architectural masterpiece built in 1937 and designed by French architect Louis Chauchon. Its distinctive domed structure houses countless stalls selling jewelry, clothing, handicrafts, souvenirs, and local products.
